We’re delighted to say we’ll be returning to play Dalgety Bay Folk Club on Friday 18th March. The gig will kick off at 8pm and will feature two hour-long sets.

The club has shifted venue since we last played it – just before lockdown, in January 2020 – so we’re really looking forward to performing in a new space for us, Hugo’s Cafe Bar Pavillion in Dalgety Bay.

Great to be back at the Fringe – next up, Glasgow…

≈ Comments Off on Great to be back at the Fringe – next up, Glasgow…

Well, we made it through the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2021 and are so grateful to all of you who turned up to see us. It was overwhelming to be playing to so many of you over the three and a half weeks and you really made our return to live performance a joy!

We must also pass on our heartfelt thanks to the whole team at the EICC and to everyone at The Pleasance and at Edinburgh Fringe, all of whom worked tremendously hard to pull things together and make the return to live events comfortable for both performers and audiences.

With live concerts being back, we’re delighted to say we’ll be on stage again – this time in Glasgow – in a little over a month when we play Cottier’s Theatre. Tickets for that show on Friday 1st October are on sale already, available here:

https://cottiers.com/event/the-sorries-live-in-concert/

We also have a series of dates planned for November, details of which can be found on the CONCERTS page. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Folk Music’s Coming Home!

13 Tuesday Jul 2021

Sorries walk RM cropThis August – The Sorries return to The Fringe!

Difficult to overstate how chuffed we are to announce our return to live action this August at the Edinburgh Fringe!

We’ll be back in front of live audiences at:

Pleasance @ E.I.C.C,
The Exchange,
Morrison Street,
Edinburgh.
4.30pm
Friday 6th- Sunday 29th August (not Mondays & Tuesdays)

I’m sure some of you will have lots of questions and we’ll share more information over the coming days and weeks, but tickets are expected to go on sale from the Edinburgh Fringe website and app on
22nd July.

It’s a new venue for us but we’re very excited to be part of the P
leasance programme this year.
One of the great benefits of playing at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre – part of the Pleasance stable for the past few years – is that the venue has been running as a vaccination centre so they have months of experience of running a Covid-safe facility.

We’ve been really impressed by the measures that will be in place during the Fringe to keep audience, staff and performers safe. There will be 1m distancing within the theatre and the room we’re playing will have plenty of space and ventilation but will – we hope – retain that homely Fringe atmosphere which we love so much.

Here’s hoping we see you there…

Douglas & Marty

Euro 21 Zoom Concert – Fri 18th June, 6.30pm

23 Sunday May 2021

Posted by sorries in Uncategorized

≈ Comments Off on Euro 21 Zoom Concert – Fri 18th June, 6.30pm

We were absolutely delighted to have the chance to get together in the same room for a rehearsal this week, it’s been many months coming. The reason we were getting together was partly to blow off the musical cobwebs but also to plan and begin rehearsals for an upcoming Zoom gig!

With Scotland and England playing each other in the European Championships in June, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to do a special performance as part of the build up to the match.

We’ll play a 45 minute concert from 6.30pm on FRIDAY 18th JUNE with attendees watching via Zoom. Because the performance will be on a Zoom call and not just a live-streamed gig, it means you’ll be able to chat to us before and after we play, make comments in between the songs, ask questions and generally heckle us to put in a bit more effort (although you might want to save that for the football!). With the game kicking off at 8pm it means you’ll have plenty of time after the gig to get settled in for the match…

Tickets cost £9 (+ booking fee) per device and are available through Eventbrite – see below:

≈ Comments Off on 2021 Activity

Hello, we hope you’re all keeping well.

It’s been a little while since you heard from us – can’t think why – but it’s great to be able to say that activity is slowly beginning again on the music front. We’ll obviously let you know as soon as we have shows confirmed, but in the meantime you can listen to the latest episodes of our podcast – The SCOTTISH SONG GUIDE – or head over to YouTube and check out the Culloden275 playlist we put together to commemorate the 275th anniversary of the Battle of Culloden.

We look forward to getting out to perform for you again soon. Until then, please look after yourselves and take care.
